    Hello!

Peru Opportunity Fund is pleased to announce that Linda Fitzgerald has been hired as their new Program Director.

Ms. Fitzgerald is a seasoned funder and a veteran of both private enterprise and the nonprofit sector. She most recently served as Hispanics in Philanthropy's (HIP) Director of Transnational Programs where she implemented a multi-million dollar grant-making program focused on economic development in six Latin American countries and their diaspora communities in the United States.

Before joining HIP, she was Deputy Director of the Community Partners Program at the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation in Miami where she was responsible for working with the Director on management and oversight of the Foundation's largest grant making program, which encompassed 26 US communities and made $50 million in grants annually. In addition, Ms. Fitzgerald developed and managed grant portfolios in three of those communities.

Ms. Fitzgerald has lived in Brazil, where she worked for a Maryland-based consulting firm specializing in international economic development. She was lead researcher on an international team of consultants based in Rio de Janeiro that developed and serviced contracts for market research and program design of business development services projects in Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Bolivia.

Ms. Fitzgerald received her Master in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from George Washington University.
