EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Code for America Programs team leads the organization’s partnerships, systems change, and delivery-driven advocacy work to obtain measurably better outcomes in the safety-net, criminal justice and workforce development areas and building a network that creates the conditions in which 21st-century government can thrive.  The Programs staff work cross-functionally with the organization’s product, engineering, fundraising and marketing teams.

The Program Director will take on leadership for the organization’s most mature service, GetCalFresh, with the goal of closing the SNAP (CalFresh) participation gap in California. The role will be responsible for leading the integration of product delivery, cross-sectoral partnerships, advocacy and business process improvements to scale the impact of the GetCalFresh program and execute on the program’s final stage of growth.    The Program Director will oversee all components of a $4.5 million annual contract, manage several program managers and set Code for America up as a national thought leader in the SNAP and digital service delivery space. The role will collaborate day to day with the Engineering, Product, and Design staff and work in close partnership with the Senior Product Manager for GetCalFresh.  The ideal candidate will bring knowledge about the SNAP program’s policy and operations, a bold vision for how Code for America’s CalFresh service delivery provides leverage for systems change and humility and eagerness to lead a cross-functional and independent team.
