The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) seeks applications and nominations for the position of Director, Talent Development to lead the innovative creation of a talent development strategy, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to realizing a new level of intensity and engagement in talent development. Located in Princeton, NJ, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is the largest philanthropy in America dedicated solely to health. Since 1972 we have worked to help people, their families, and their communities be as healthy as possible - no matter what their physical, economic, or demographic challenges may be. We do this by providing funding, assistance, and research for projects and programs targeting some of the most pressing health issues in our nation. RWJF has committed itself to a vision of working alongside others to build a Culture of Health where everyone has a fair and just opportunity for health and well-being.
The Director will create and facilitate trainings and professional development programs, including onboarding for new staff and ongoing learning opportunities for existing staff Identify and recommend management and professional training programs that target key areas for continuous improvement of Foundation staff; assess current training and development curriculum and tools and recommend new approaches to continuously improve service and ensure that the function is responsive to trends and needs as they arise; and will ensure that all aspects of RWJF’s training strategy program incorporate and strengthen our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion at the Foundation and in our work.
The successful candidate will bring a vision for the future and set forth progressive goals in close concert with HR leadership and colleagues across the Foundation and proven leadership experience building and delivering development programs, experiences, and processes, preferably in the context of a complex mission-driven organization. S/he will have a record of success bringing a broad talent development strategy from conception to tactics and successful deployment and evaluation. Additionally, s/he will bring a healthy sense of humor, a creative and entrepreneurial spirit, superior emotional intelligence, and a natural collegiality that thrives on being part of a close-knit team.
