Heather Krasna is a career and executive coach with more than 19 years of experience, as well as the author of Jobs That Matter: Find a Stable, Fulfilling Career in Public Service (Jist Publishing, 2010). Jobs That Matter has been favorably reviewed and highlighted on Idealist.org, CareerBuilder, NPR, the New York Times Syndicate, USA Today, and the US News & World Report, and Heather is an internationally-recognized keynote speaker, who has presented at the Net Impact international conference, the National Association of Colleges & Employers, the Washington State Nonprofit Conference, the American Library Association conference, numerous universities, and the École des Hautes Études en Santé Publique in France among others. In addition to her role as Director of Candidate Services for Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group, Heather is also Assistant Dean and Director of Career Services at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, one of the top 5 graduate schools of public health in the USA. Her prior experience includes serving as Director of Career Services for the Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington, a top-ranked Master of Public Administration Program.
Heather graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan, and has a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management and a Certificate in Organizational Development from Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy, a Certificate in Adult Career Planning and Development from NYU, is a Certified Social Sourcing Recruiter, Certified Diversity Recruiter, and Certified Employment Interview Professional, and has served on several nonprofit boards of directors.
